Job Summary

Data and Insights Analyst

Employment Type: Full-time 2 Year Fixed Term Contract

Location: Sydney based

Hybrid Work arrangement: 3 days in the office to 2 days per weekworking from home reporting to the Data Strategy & Data Governance Manager.


Salary: $110000 Annual Base Salary plus superannuation

You like solving problems improving processes and helping others understand what the data is actually telling them. Youre comfortable working across technical and non-technical teams and you enjoy being the person who can connect the dots between data business needs and practical outcomes.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked closely with business teams and operational stakeholders rather than purely IT support or technical infrastructure environments. The role requires someone who can bridge technical data concepts with practical business outcomes and stakeholder needs.

What youll be doing day to day

Youll play a key role in supporting APCOs reporting analytics and data governance capability. Working closely with business and technical stakeholders youll help transform complex information into clear reliable and actionable insights.

Your work will include:

Data analysis and reporting

  • Delivering reporting dashboards and analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Identifying trends risks opportunities and improvement areas across complex datasets.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of reporting data models and visualisations.
  • Presenting insights and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Stakeholder collaboration and business support

  • Working with teams across the organisation to understand reporting and analytical requirements.
  • Helping stakeholders improve data accessibility usability and confidence in reporting outputs.
  • Coordinating data-related issues actions and improvement initiatives across teams.
  • Supporting governance forums and cross-functional data initiatives.

Data governance and quality

  • Supporting APCOs data governance practices standards and documentation.
  • Contributing to data quality monitoring and continuous improvement activities.
  • Promoting consistent reliable and fit-for-purpose data management practices.
  • Supporting reporting and compliance activities related to governance and data quality.

Experience were looking for

  • Experience in data analysis reporting or business intelligence roles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Experience working with reporting and visualisation tools such as Power BI Excel SQL or similar platforms.
  • Experience partnering with business stakeholders to translate operational needs intopractical reporting and data solutions.
  • Ability to bridge technical data concepts with business priorities and decision-making.
  • Experience supporting data governance data quality or reporting improvement initiatives is highly regarded.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in a regulatory membership sustainability or not-for-profit environment is beneficial but not essential.
