We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team based in Durban. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional looking to lead complex and impactful projects across South Africa. You will be responsible for the technical design project management and successful delivery of a diverse range of civil engineering projects from conception through to completion / Full ECSA stages.
While you will be based at our Durban office you must be willing and able to travel to project sites anywhere in South Africa as required. The company will cover all associated business travel and accommodation costs.

Duties & Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team based in Durban. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional looking to lead complex and impactful projects across South Africa. You will be responsible for the technical design project management and successful delivery of a diverse range of civil engineering projects from conception through to completion / Full ECSA stages.

While you will be based at our Durban office you must be willing and able to travel to project sites anywhere in South Africa as required. The company will cover all associated business travel and accommodation costs.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design must be a Civil Engineer designer planning and management of civil engineering projects (e.g. roads stormwater earthworks water reticulation sewer infrastructure etc).
Take full technical ownership of projects ensuring designs are innovative cost-effective and compliant with South African regulations and standards (SANS etc.).
Manage project budgets timelines and resources effectively.
Prepare and review technical reports proposals tender documents and contract documentation.
Liaise with clients contractors local authorities and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior and intermediate engineers and technologists within the team.
Conduct site inspections and monitor construction progress to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
Ensure all work complies with the highest health safety and environmental standards.

Minimum Requirements (Non-Negotiable):

Education:Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSc Eng) or Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or B-Tech in Civil Engineering.
Experience:Minimum of10 yearsof post-graduate experience in civil engineering.
Professional Registration:

Must be registered with ECSA as aProfessional Engineer (Pr Eng)OR aProfessional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng).
Must have a minimum of5 yearsof post-professional registration experience.

Technical Skills:Proficient in industry-standard civil engineering design software (e.g. AutoCAD Civil 3D Prokon or similar).
Willingness to Travel:Must be willing and available to travel to project sites across South Africa for short-term or long-term assignments as required by project needs. (Company will cover all expenses).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong client relationship management skills.
A valid South African drivers license is essential.
