Our client is seeking an Expert AI Engineer to join their high-impact IT Hub.

In this role you will be instrumental in delivering mature and safe AI building blocks specifically focusing on Expert Chatbots and hardened environments that automate critical conversations within the global group and with its international partners.

As an industry leader you will integrate nuanced systems and processes to create products based on international best practices.

You will solve complex escalated tasks that require a deep technical understanding acting as a final point of authority for the products engineering standards.

Technical Excellence & Leadership

• Observability Mastery: Build and operate the AI Observability platform thinking deeply about telemetry and failure modes rather than just dashboards.
• Cloud & DevOps Leadership: Manage platform infrastructure across Azure or AWS utilizing GitOps and DevOps practices to ensure stability at scale.
• Data Innovation: Design and implement sophisticated data pipeline solutions to power AI building blocks.
• Mentorship: Provide high-level guidance to team members and lead team leaders within a fast-paced agile environment.

Position Details

• Contract Dates:to.
• Location: Midrand / Menlyn / Rosslyn / Home Office Rotation.
• Level: Expert 8 years related experience
• Work Arrangement: 1960 hours per 12-month period with remote and on-site flexibility.

Qualifications & Experience

• Expertise: A senior platform or DevOps engineer with profound expertise in observability.
• Environment: Comfortable operating cloud-native governed AI platforms while balancing engineering autonomy with strict governance requirements.
• Technical Fluency: Deeply proficient in agent-based systems and framework familiarity.
• Knowledge: Recognized as an industry leader capable of representing the product in professional boards.

Essential Skills & Technologies

• Cloud Operations: Proven experience with Azure and/or AWS.
• Observability: Strong background in application observability and telemetry.
• Development Ops: Mastery of DevOps and GitOps methodologies.
• Frameworks: Familiarity with AI agent frameworks.

Advantageous Skills

• Experience with AI Agent building and configuration.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills using Terraform CrossPlane or ArgoCD.
• Data engineering proficiency including Kafka ETL processes and Spark.
• Previous experience with GROUP systems integration.
