About the role:

You can expect to work across:

  • Income tax and corporate tax advisory matters
  • A small amount of CGT and other indirect tax work (Stamp Duty etc.)
  • Structuring and tax planning advice for private groups family offices companies and business owners
  • Domestic and international tax issues including transaction structuring and ongoing group advice
  • Trusts tax private wealth structuring and asset protection issues
  • ATO reviews audits objections and tax controversy matters where required

The role would suit someone who enjoys technical tax work and is able to apply their knowledge to high net worth individuals and private companies.

The ideal candidate:

  • 2-6 years of PQE advising on direct tax corporate tax private client tax or tax controversy
  • Strong drafting research and technical analysis skills
  • The ability to work with complex client structures and high-value matters
  • A commercial mindset and confidence dealing with sophisticated clients
  • Genuine interest in building a specialist tax advisory career
  • Strong attention to detail and a practical commercial approach

This role would suit a tax lawyer who wants more direct client exposure and technical breadth in their practice or a lawyer looking to work do more sophisticated private client work within a specialist practice. Lawyers with experience working in the Big 4 accounting firms are encouraged to apply.
