Job Title:

ProcurementOfficer

Job Purpose:

Our client is seeking a finance professional to manage core accounting functions ensure accurate financial record-keeping and reporting maintain compliance with statutory requirements and provide timely financial information and analysis to support business decision-making. The role combines hands-on transactional processing with higher-level financial reporting audit support and analysis using Sage accounting software.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively control all project and operational procurement functions
  • Maintain and update the procurement system
  • Establish and maintain vendor records on the system
  • Source acquire manage and maintain vendor relationships
  • Implement procurement policies and procedures
  • Source vendors products and quotations
  • Liaise with internal departments regarding procurement products and services
  • Liaise with Finance and other departments regarding accounts payable enquiries
  • Coordinate with Operations and project requestors to ensure optimal purchasing for business needs
  • Expedite procurement orders received from various departments
  • Accurately capture procurement information on SAP and related procurement systems
  • Analyse contracts reports and data for accuracy
  • Report on abnormal variances relating to procurement requirements and take corrective action when required
  • Ensure vendor accounts are submitted for payment on time
  • Train and supervise staff
  • Provide guidance and leadership to direct reports
  • Perform administrative duties and reporting as required
  • Conduct make-or-buy policy analysis and provide recommendations
  • Execute all duties in a safe and responsible manner
  • Encourage and promote safe working practices among employees

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Computer literate (MS Office Suite)
  • Knowledge and experience working on SAP
  • 35 years experience in procurement supply chain and general administration.
