Pentaho BI Lead-AMS

Position Description:

Role Summary
Responsible for leading ETL support and data integration processes using Pentaho ensuring reliable timely and high-quality data pipelines across enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities

. Lead L2/L3 support for ETL pipelines built on Pentaho Data Integration (PDI)
. Monitor troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline failures delays and performance issues
. Manage job scheduling dependencies and workflow orchestration
. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring ETL/data issues
. Optimize ETL jobs for performance scalability and reliability
. Ensure data quality reconciliation and validation checks
. Support data integration with Data Warehouse (e.g. AWS Redshift S3)
. Collaborate with BI/reporting teams for data availability and accuracy
. Implement automation monitoring and alerting mechanisms
. Drive continuous improvement and ETL standardization

Required Skills

. 610 years of experience in ETL development and support
. Strong hands-on experience with Pentaho Data Integration (Kettle)
. Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts (dimensions facts SCDs)
. Proficiency in SQL and performance tuning
. Experience with job scheduling tools (e.g. Rundeck Control-M cron)
. Strong debugging skills for complex data workflows

Preferred Skills

. Experience with AWS data stack (Redshift S3 Glue)
. Knowledge of Python or scripting for automation
. Exposure to data governance and data quality frameworks
. Retail domain experience (sales inventory supply chain data)

Leadership & Support Expectations

. Act as technical lead and escalation point for ETL issues
. Manage incident problem and change management processes
. Coordinate with offshore/onshore teams for 24x7 support coverage
. Mentor junior ETL engineers and enforce best practices
