In this role you will be instrumental in performing complex surgical procedures providing pre-operative and post-operative care and working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal outcomes for our patients. Responsibilities
- Perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures with precision and care
- Conduct pre-operative assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Provide post-operative care and monitor patient recovery
- Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records
- Stay updated on advancements in cardiothoracic surgery techniques
- Participate in departmental meetings and case reviews
- Provide mentorship to junior medical staff as needed
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of Athens
- Experience in cardiothoracic surgery is preferred
- Strong clinical and surgical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to patient-centered care and safety
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
Schedule: 5 days per month
Patient Census: 5 hospital encounters per day or 25 per month
Procedures: Emergent CABGs aortic dissections etc.
Support Staff: 2 surgeons 5 surgical APPs
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
