JOB SUMMARY
The Hivunikȓaq Uqautchiptigun Aulapkaiȓuaq leads the planning development and delivery of community-based language revitalization programs working closely with the Capacity Manager to secure funding and ensure successful program execution. They actively engage with ISR communities to gather feedback and tailor programming to local needs collaborating with other departments and language workers within ISR and Inuit Nunangat to promote initiatives.
The role involves sharing language revitalization projects through social media and public forums building partnerships to strengthen community efforts. Additionally the Language Revitalization Coordinator conducts research handles administrative tasks and fosters strong relationships with stakeholders to support the programs success.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be/have:
- Must be a Beneficiary of the Inuvialuit Final Agreement (IFA).
- Must be fluent in Inuvialuktun (Uummarmiutun Sallirmiutun Kangiryuarmiutun) or demonstrate a commitment to becoming fluent.
- Strong oral interpersonal written communication and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Word Excel and Windows.
- Knowledge of Inuvialuit culture communities and language revitalization practices.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
- Experience in project coordination and community engagement.
