The Wyoming Life Resource Center (WLRC) a proud part of the State of Wyoming Department of Health is seeking a dedicated professional to join our outstanding Therapies Team. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where diverse backgrounds and perspectives are valued.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.- Provide comprehensive communication mealtime oral motor and hearing components of functional assessments for your caseload.
- Develop and coordinate therapeutic programming to ensure active individualized treatment including training and in-service for staff.
- Monitor therapy interventions monthly providing clear and timely written progress notes.
- Lead the mealtime challenges class and other specialty subjects ensuring staff are expertly trained in communication therapeutic mealtimes and oral motor skills.
- Coordinate the development creation construction and maintenance of Augmentative/Alternative Communication (AAC) systems for non-verbal residents.
- Order and maintain essential mealtime and communication equipment and develop necessary evaluation and training kits.
- Collaborate effectively as a team member on special committees and assist with community consultations as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE:- In-depth knowledge of the principles techniques and rehabilitation practices in Speech and Hearing Therapy.
- Thorough understanding of all relevant regulations laws professional ethics and standard practices for Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology Services.
- Proven ability to develop individualized programs and perform assessments and interventions related to oral motor skills mealtime function and audiology.
- Demonstrated skills in decision-making self-direction organization and effective prioritization of work.
- Competency in using computers and applicable software applications for clinical and administrative tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage positively and effectively with residents staff families guardians and the public.
- Capacity to adapt to change find common ground respect differing professional expertise and participate effectively as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team.
- Comfort and skill in working with and around WLRC residents including those who may display challenging behaviors.
- Familiarity with professional research methods.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Masters Degree in Speech PathologyCertificates Licenses Registrations:Licensure or eligible for licensure in the State of Wyoming as a Speech PathologistNecessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:- Recognize through sight and sounds emergencies and behavior management situations and physically respond to them.
- Must be able to safely move (twisting bending kneeling pushing pulling positioning and lifting people with multiple and severe disabilities.
- Ability to monitor sounds noises location of residents order to assure safety and assess imminent danger and emerging concerns.
NOTES:- FLSA: Exempt
- The Wyoming Life Resource Center participates in E-Verify. We will provide the Social Security Administration and if necessary the Department of Homeland Security with information from each new employees Form I-9 to confirm work authorization. Please note that we do not use this information to pre-screen job applicants.
- A background check including the taking of fingerprints will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation Department of Family Services and the F.B.I. for every successful applicant.
- Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing will be conducted on safety-sensitive positions. Drug testing will be conducted on any position if reasonable suspicion exists.
