Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Product Designer to join our R&D team at Real. This role involves working across the entire design process from research and ideation to prototyping and final delivery. You will craft user-centered design solutions that meet both user needs and business goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in UX/UI design be a natural problem solver and thrive in a collaborative agile environment. You will also mentor junior designers and help shape the design culture at Real while having the flexibility to work remotely.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead End-to-End Design Process: Own the complete design lifecycle for various products from initial research and ideation through to high-fidelity visuals and final implementation.

  • Create User-Centered Solutions: Translate complex user and business challenges into simple elegant and functional design solutions that align with user needs and strategic goals.

  • Design Artifacts Creation: Develop user flows wireframes prototypes and high-fidelity visual designs that clearly communicate design concepts and ensure an intuitive user experience.

  • Usability Testing & Iteration: Conduct user testing and leverage data-driven insights to validate design decisions ensuring designs meet performance goals and continuously improve based on user rapidly to validate concepts and test with users.

  • Conversational Interface Design: Design and refine AI-driven workflows including conversational and non-conversational AI experiences focusing on clarity usability and engagement. Define AI behavior patterns including prompts system responses confidence indicators fallback states and guardrails to ensure transparent and trustworthy monitor usability KPIs and optimize user interactions based on performance data and feedback.

  • Micro-Interactions & System Feedback: Craft refined micro-interactions motion and feedback states that make AI responses feel responsive and intentional including handling latency streaming responses progressive disclosure and error recovery

  • Mentorship & Guidance: Mentor junior designers helping them grow their skills navigate challenges and refine their design approaches. Foster a collaborative and supportive design culture.

  • Drive Design System Evolution: Contribute to and help evolve the design system ensuring consistency and scalability across all products and features.

  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with product managers engineers and other cross-functional teams to ensure design solutions align with technical requirements and product objectives. Demonstrate a working understanding of system and component architecture and front-end fundamentals to ensure designs are feasible and implementation-ready.

  • Champion Design Thinking: Advocate for user-centered design thinking across the organization ensuring that design decisions are informed by user insights and aligned with business objectives.

  • Stay Current with Design and AI Trends: Keep up with industry trends best practices and emerging design tools. Integrate new ideas and approaches into design processes to enhance product AI-powered design tools to accelerate ideation layout generation content exploration and prototyping while maintaining high quality standards.

  • Ensure Accessibility & Inclusivity: Ensure that all designs follow accessibility standards and guidelines providing a seamless and inclusive experience for all users.

  • Balance Multiple Projects: Manage multiple design initiatives concurrently while maintaining high-quality work and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic environment.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Advanced proficiency in Figma and familiarity with design systems.

  • Ability to incorporate user research competitive analysis and data-driven insights into design decisions.

  • Strong communication skills and experience working in agile cross-functional teams.

  • Deep understanding of user interface and user experience principles with the ability to balance aesthetics and functionality.

  • Proven ability to juggle multiple projects and deliver on time in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to mentor and guide junior designers while fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.

  • Experience designing for conversational AI agents particularly with a focus on usability KPIs and iterative improvements.

  • Establish patterns and frameworks for responsible AI design

  • Strong systems thinking and ability to design for ambiguity

  • Use AI design tools to accelerate ideation layout generation copy exploration and prototyping

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Graphic Design Interaction Design Human-Computer Interaction or a related field (preferred) or equivalent professional experience.

  • 6-8 years of professional experience in Product Design UX/UI Design or a related role.

  • Advanced proficiency in Figma and familiarity with design systems. Knowledge of other design tools is a plus.

  • Previous experience working in agile environments collaborating closely with product and technical teams.

  • Proven track record of mentoring junior designers and helping them improve their skills.

  • Experience with AI-powered conversational interfaces focusing on user interaction performance metrics and optimization is preferred.
