Job Description
Preforms a variety of unskilled and semiskilled labor assisting full-time employees in general street maintenance operations.
This seasonal position is eligible for a $1.00 /$1.50 per hour bonus program. Bonus amounts are based off of the number of hours worked while in the seasonal role. Full bonus criteria and eligibility details will be provided to all finalists.
Duties/Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Maintain prompt and regular attendance
- Ability to safely and effectively operate motor vehicles tools etc.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and other employees
- Work effectively and cooperatively with the general public
- Read and follow verbal instructions
- Abide by all safety rules and procedures
- Ability to work under direct supervision of full-time employees
- Perform work duties under all weather conditions
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work effectively alongside various road crews including: paving milling patching tree drainage etc.
- Shovel and rake asphalt
- Operate asphalt roller and compactor
- Fill potholes
- Assisting the milling operation
- Directing traffic for various work activities
- Assisting tree crew with groundwork i.e. raking picking up branches wood chipper etc.
- Assisting the sign department by making and installing street signs
- Assisting drainage crew with installing and maintaining catch basins pipes drains etc.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 17 years of age
- Have a valid drivers license
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in Public Works
- Experience performing manual labor

- Knowledge of various equipment and tools
- Knowledge of basic safety methods
- Knowledge of basic construction methods
- Ability to work productively efficiently and safely
- Ability to work in a team setting
