Kitchen Co-ordinator

Location: Claremont

Part-Time 60 hrs/fortnight

Monday to Friday 7.00am to 1.30 pm

Short walk from train station and Claremont shopping centre

ABOUT THE CENTRE

Ngala Early Learning Claremont is a spacious growing childcare centre just a 5-minute walk from Claremont Train Station. We offer large indoor and outdoor play areas a dedicated art room and excellent child-to-educator ratios. Our focus is on providing fun stimulating and joyful learning activities for children.

We operate Monday to Friday 6:30am to 6.00pm.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced motivated and passionate Kitchen Coordinator to join the Claremont team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is committed to providing high-quality nutritious meals for children in a warm and supportive early learning environment.

Working autonomously the successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring a consistent high standard of food safety practices meal quality and presentation as well as the maintenance cleanliness and safety of the kitchen.

This role is ideal for a proactive individual who takes pride in their work enjoys working independently and understands the importance of nutrition in early childhood.

DUTIES

Responsibilities include:

Cooking and preparing meals as per the menu.

Stock and produce shopping ordering and rotation.

Plating up and delivery of meals to childrens rooms.

Checking/testing temperature of food and recording.

Ensure awareness of childrens requirements/allergies and prepare meals accordingly.

ABOUT YOU

You will be highly organised and have a thorough understanding of OS&H and food practices including HACCP together with the following:

Knowledge of special dietary requirements and food allergies

Sound knowledge and experience in food preparation and cooking meals

Experience working autonomously in a kitchen

Effective communication skills interpersonal and relationship building skills

Self-motivated and show initiative

High level of attention to detail

Training in Food Safety as per Local Government approved training program including allergen training will be undertaken by the successful candidate.

The successful candidate will be required to provide a current Working With Children Check and National Police Clearance (within 6 months).
