Site Manager (Building) Construction Industry

RPO Recruitments client a reputable building contractor in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join their team on a large-scale construction project. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site operations ensuring quality delivery and driving programme performance from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily site activities on a major building project
• Manage subcontractors labour and site resources effectively
• Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings specifications and programme requirements
• Maintain high standards of quality control and workmanship particularly on finishing works
• Monitor site progress and implement corrective actions where required
• Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations
• Coordinate with project managers engineers and consultants
• Manage site reporting documentation and progress updates

Requirements:

• National Diploma in Building/BTech degree in Construction Management or similar
• Minimum 8 and 10 years proven experience as a Site Manager on building construction projects
• Strong background in commercial building projects and high-end finishes essential
• Experience on large government or institutional projects advantageous
• Solid understanding of construction sequencing site coordination and subcontractor management
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong leadership communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
