Primary Responsibilities:
Religious and Spiritual Leadership
- Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school
- Acts as a witness to the Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Develops a school climate reflecting Catholic identity
- Supports and adheres to the teachings of the Catholic Church Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the Archdiocese of Detroit
- Promotes Catholic identity within the school through liturgical celebrations faith development integration of Gospel values and the practice of Christian service
- Ensures that the religious instruction of students meets the guidelines set forth by the Archdiocese of Detroit
- Oversees the certification ofTheologyteachers according to Archdiocesan policy
Academic Leadership
- Ensures the implementation of a comprehensive curriculumusinga variety of pedagogical strategies
- Supervises instruction and evaluates the overall effectiveness of the academic program
- Maintains the accreditation of the school according to MANS(Michigan Association of Non-Public Schools)standards
- Oversees ongoing orientation and developmentof faculty and staffin both educational and faith development
Strategic and Visionary Leadership
- Identifies andaffects needed change for school improvement
- Works effectively with the board of directors toestablishgoals for school effectiveness
- Oversees development goals and seeks resources and support beyond the school
School Operations
- Establishes and coordinates school calendars and schedules
- Hires supervises evaluates andterminatesall faculty and staff according to Archdiocesan guidelines
- Maintains current andaccuraterecords according to Archdiocesan and school policy
- Is responsible for the management upkeep and repair of the school building and school grounds
Financial Management
- Responsible for the annual school budget and supervises all expenditures
- Makes informed decisions about resource allocation and expenditures
- Works together with school staff to ensure that financial resources are used effectively
- Carefullymonitorsspending to ensure it aligns with the budget andidentifiespotential areas for cost savings without compromising the quality of education
Advancement and Community Relations
- Demonstrates professionalism in conduct demeanor and work habits
- Communicates effectively with students parents and other professionals
- Maintains a work schedule that maximizes availability to the schoolstudentsand staff
- Fosters a sense and spirit of community and partnership among families
- Collaborates with thepastorand ex-officio of the Board of Directorstostrengthen religious education and community bonds
Enrollment and Marketing
- Oversees student recruitmentretentionand enrollment processes
- Collaborates with marketing and admissions teams to promote the school and attract prospective students and families
Credentials Skillsand Experience:
- 4 or more years of leadership/administrative experience in a Catholic school setting
- MastersEducational Leadership
- Experience with Finance/Budget
- Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing
