We observe the conditions of detention and the treatment of people in detention. We aim to ensure that their health dignity and wellbeing is being upheld and protected raising any concerns with the Australian all activities our volunteers members and staff are guided by the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent OpportunityRole of the Volunteer Program Officer is to provide administrative support to the IDMP program which including sensitive data about the conditions in immigration detention include:Providing logistical and administrative assistance to Lead Humanitarian Observers prior to during and after visits to immigration detention documents entering data and other records management tasks in accordance with Red Cross record keeping policies and research on a range of issues which could include public policy emerging issues for people in detention and mapping trends in the the IDMP team to develop tools and resources to facilitate operational to the development of strategic Cross will ensure you have the training and ongoing support you will need to excel in the role. You would be highly sensitive to the confidentiality requirements of the this role you will need excellent data management and research skills and the ability to produce clear reports within short timeframes. You will be confident with using computers and will be required to learn to use Red Cross internal data management will need to provide a recent copy of your CV and provide details for two professional this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check which will be organised through Red Cross. The role will also require you to hold or apply for a Working With Children Check or Working With Vulnerable People Check depending on your State/Territory.
