Job Summary
Your profile
You will own the vision for how we collect organize govern and leverage our data assets so that we can productionise them and provide insights to our customers that they could not get anywhere else. Youll build and lead a small but growing team of Data and Database Engineers and work cross-functionally with your teammates from Product Technology and the rest of business to turn raw data into strategic value.
What Youll Do
- Define and execute the companysdata platform strategy with a focus on unifying disparate data sources into a scalable reliable data lake /lakehousearchitecture
- Architect and oversee the buildof a unified data platform spanning on-prem cloud and customer-side environments
- Evaluate select and implement the right tools and platforms (e.g.SnowflakeDB2dbtAirflowor equivalent)
- Stayhands-on!Contribute directly to design decisions data modeling pipeline development and platform builds alongside the team
- Lead grow and mentor aData team. You are the one to set the direction anditsexpansion
- Define and enforcedata governance quality and security standardsacross all data environments
- Partner with theCPTOTechnology DirectorandSenior Leadershipto translate business needs into data infrastructure investments and roadmaps
- Establishobservability and monitoringpractices to ensure platform reliability and data integrity
- Drive a culture ofdata democratizationbymaking data accessible trustworthy and actionable across the organizationand to our customers
- Work with the CPTO andProductLead to create a roadmap that provides practical well thought out but ambitious value to our customers
What You Bring
- 10 yearsof experience in data engineering data architecture or a related field with at least23 years in a senior leadership or director-level role
- Proven experiencedesigningand building unified data platformsor data lake/lakehousesolutions in complex multi-environment settings (on-prem cloud edge/customer-side)
- Deep hands-onexpertisewithenterprise data platformssuch asSnowflake IBM DB2 Databricks RedshiftBigQuery or similar
- Strong background indata modeling ETL/ELT pipeline design and large-scale data architecture
- Experiencemanaging and developing engineering teams witha track recordof hiring coaching andretainingstrong technical talent
- Ability tooperateat both thestrategic and executionlevel -this is explicitly a hands-on role
- Solid understanding ofdata governance security and compliancebest practices.
Bonus Points For
- Experience working withdistributed or hybrid data environmentswheredata lives partially on customer infrastructure
- Familiarity with modern data stack tooling:dbt Apache Airflow Spark Kafka or similar
- Exposure todata mesh or data fabricarchitectural patterns
- Background in buildingself-serve analytics capabilitiesand BI tooling (e.g. Looker TableauMetabase)
- Experience in ascale-up or growth-stage companywhere building from scratch is the norm
- Knowledge ofcloud platforms(AWS GCP or Azure) and their managed data services
