Supply Chain Specialist

What you can expect:
Preferred by Nature is looking for a Supply Chain Specialist to join our forestry certification team in China. You will conduct FSC and PEFC certification audits and assessments for clients across Greater China Japan and Korea managing your own portfolio of clients from scheduling through to report finalisation. Working within a close-knit regional team you will play an important role in maintaining the quality and growth of our certification services while building the technical expertise to support FSC Forest Management audits over time.
Working with us is never routine so in your first year you can expect the following areas to be central to your work.
Conduct FSC and PEFC Chain of Custody and Forest Management certification audits for clients across China Japan and Korea including on-site visits and desk audits.
Manage a portfolio of client engagements including audit scheduling budgeting report writing and client communication.
Work towards and complete registration as a CCAA-certified auditor under Chinese regulatory requirements.
Ensure quality accuracy and timeliness across all certification tasks and administrative processes.
Provide client support on certification standards FSC and PEFC requirements and logo and trademark use.
Support cross-regional audit engagements in East Asia as part of the broader PbN forestry team.
Your first year with us:
Within three months you will:
Complete onboarding and gain a solid understanding of PbNs certification services internal systems and the East Asia client portfolio.
Begin supporting audits under supervision and actively work towards CCAA auditor registration.
Build effective working relationships with the China team and key client contacts.
Within six months you will:
Conduct independent FSC and PEFC CoC audits and begin managing your own client portfolio.
Complete CCAA auditor registration and begin contributing to billable audit engagements at full capacity.
Take on task management responsibilities for assigned clients covering scheduling reporting and client follow-up.
Within twelve months you will:
Independently manage a consistent portfolio of FSC and PEFC CoC certification clients with strong quality and client satisfaction.
Begin developing the technical knowledge and audit experience needed to support FSC Forest Management audits in the future.
Contribute actively to cross-regional audit support and internal team initiatives.
Important that you:
Hold a university degree in forestry biology geography environmental management or a related field or hold a vocational qualification from the timber processing or trading industry.
Bring approximately 2 to 3 years of experience in the forest product sector (timber printing paper or forestry) or related environmental management fields.
Are proficient in Chinese and English both written and spoken.
Are comfortable travelling nationally and internationally as a regular part of your work.
Are able to work independently make sound decisions in the field and manage your own workload with a high degree of integrity.
Are aligned with Preferred by Natures mission and motivated by the opportunity to contribute to it.
Would also be great but not necessary if you:
Are already registered as a CFCC auditor under CCAA or are eligible to register.
Have experience with FSC or PEFC CoC FM or RA SAS standards.
Have knowledge of Japanese or Korean in addition to Chinese and English.
Have a background in FSC Forest Management auditing or are interested in developing this expertise.
