The Position:

Reporting to the Head of School the successful candidates will bring a thoughtful hands-on approach to the classroom that actively engages the students while helping them to develop confidence and skill within the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver and assess the curriculum content during the academic workday and extra-curricular periods starting at approximately 8:00 am
• Attend staff meetings divisional meetings and professional development activities
• Attend parent/teacher conferences Parent Education and school functions including weekend open houses
• Assist with duties outside of the classroom including yard duties supervised study times and class coverages
• Welcome visitors on Admissions Tours into classrooms
• Set and maintain a high standard of behaviour for each class from the beginning of the School year
• Maintain consistency within the classroom and role model professional standards
• Be aware and adhere to all student and staff policies
• Utilize a variety of teaching and learning strategies to facilitate student success.
• Use a variety of assessment strategies both formal and informal to monitor and report on student learning.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues within their Department and the School
• Support school events teams and extracurricular opportunities.
• Follow the practices and policies outlined in the MacLachlan College Teacher handbook.
• Be prepared to adjust and adapt to support English Language Learners (ELLs) students with Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) gifted students and others as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Post-Secondary Education including an Ontario Teachers Certificate (Good Standing)
• Three to five years of relevant teaching experience and qualifications.

• Intermeditae/Senior Qualifications
• Prior experience teaching the Ontario Curriculum
• Considerable knowledge of the Growing Success assessment policy document
• Familiarity with SMARTBoard Office 365 and Atlas Rubicon curriculum mapping
• Exhibit strong positive classroom management skills with a focus on building classroom community and ensuring student learning.
• Demonstrate professional communication and interpersonal skills with students parents and colleagues alike.
• Display initiative enthusiasm and a willingness to participate in all aspects of faculty life at MacLachlan College.
• Have a positive attitude and be willing to grow their professional practice by engaging in professional development initiatives.
• Have strong organizational and time management skills and a proven ability to craft and adhere to deadlines on small and large scales.

The salary range is based on our current salary band and ranges from $64000.00 to $116000.00.

This is a full-time permanent position with a start date of September 12026
