AppOps Database Administrator

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled AppOps DBA to join our Technology & Engineering this role you will play a key part in developing operationalizing and supporting next-generation on-premises and cloud database solutions. You will provide technical leadership across Oracle Exadata and Aurora PostgreSQL platforms helping to ensure high availability scalability security and operational excellence across mission-critical environments.

Working closely with Development QA Platform Engineering and AppOps teams you will contribute to automation-led database operations cloud transformation initiatives and continuous performance optimization in a fast-paced highly collaborative environment.

What Youll Do

• Manage and optimize Oracle PostgreSQL Aurora AWS RDS and Exadata database environments to ensure performance reliability and availability.
• Lead database operationalization initiatives including automation observability resiliency backup recovery replication and disaster recovery strategies.
• Support and influence cloud migration programs from Oracle on-premises environments to AWS-based Oracle and Aurora PostgreSQL platforms.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines Infrastructure as Code practices and intelligent automation to streamline deployment and operational processes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering product and support teams while participating in rotating on-call production support activities.

What Were Looking For

• Strong hands-on experience managing Oracle Exadata AWS RDS Oracle and Aurora PostgreSQL database environments.
• Expertise in AWS technologies including EC2 S3 Aurora Redshift AWS DMS and AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT).
• Deep understanding of database architecture SQL tuning PL/SQL performance optimization backup and recovery strategies and high-availability design.
• Experience with DevOps methodologies container platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker and Infrastructure as Code tools including Terraform CloudFormation and Ansible.
• Excellent communication collaboration and technical documentation skills with the ability to work effectively across business and technical teams.

• AWS Certified Database Specialty certification.
• AWS Certified Data Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.
• Oracle Cloud or Oracle Database certifications.
• Experience mentoring technical teams and driving operational best practices.
• Previous experience supporting large-scale distributed production environments in financial services or highly regulated industries.
