AppOps Database Administrator

The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled AppOps DBA to join our Technology & Engineering this role you will play a key part in developing operationalizing and supporting next-generation on-premises and cloud database solutions. You will provide technical leadership across Oracle Exadata and Aurora PostgreSQL platforms helping to ensure high availability scalability security and operational excellence across mission-critical environments.
Working closely with Development QA Platform Engineering and AppOps teams you will contribute to automation-led database operations cloud transformation initiatives and continuous performance optimization in a fast-paced highly collaborative environment.
What Youll Do
- Manage and optimize Oracle PostgreSQL Aurora AWS RDS and Exadata database environments to ensure performance reliability and availability.
- Lead database operationalization initiatives including automation observability resiliency backup recovery replication and disaster recovery strategies.
- Support and influence cloud migration programs from Oracle on-premises environments to AWS-based Oracle and Aurora PostgreSQL platforms.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines Infrastructure as Code practices and intelligent automation to streamline deployment and operational processes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering product and support teams while participating in rotating on-call production support activities.
What Were Looking For
- Strong hands-on experience managing Oracle Exadata AWS RDS Oracle and Aurora PostgreSQL database environments.
- Expertise in AWS technologies including EC2 S3 Aurora Redshift AWS DMS and AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT).
- Deep understanding of database architecture SQL tuning PL/SQL performance optimization backup and recovery strategies and high-availability design.
- Experience with DevOps methodologies container platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker and Infrastructure as Code tools including Terraform CloudFormation and Ansible.
- Excellent communication collaboration and technical documentation skills with the ability to work effectively across business and technical teams.
Bonus Points For
- AWS Certified Database Specialty certification.
- AWS Certified Data Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.
- Oracle Cloud or Oracle Database certifications.
- Experience mentoring technical teams and driving operational best practices.
- Previous experience supporting large-scale distributed production environments in financial services or highly regulated industries.

The salary range for this position is listed below. Additionally this position may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary/variable bonus payment.
