Position Summary
This role will provide technical drawing and CAD support services to internal and external DHA customers. Services include the creation modification maintenance and management of facility and infrastructure drawings and associated data using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Supported files include all engineering and architectural drawings used to maintain accurate facility records and support Government-owned systems

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Thefollowinginexhaustive list ofdutiesrepresentsa sampleofworkroutinelyperformedbythis role:
- Update architectural and infrastructure as-built drawings to reflect additions relocations and modifications. Architectural elements include but are not limited to exterior and interior walls windows partitions stairwells elevators casework doors and door swings. Associated text such as RPIE asset numbers room numbers areas finishes and room names shall also be updated in accordance with DHA policies and procedures.
- Validate project room information changes in compliance with Medical Health Systems Space Planning Criteria.
- Update the DMLSS/LogiCole system with required room and facility information per DHA-FE standard operating procedures and project policies.
- Upload and link drawing elements to the DMLSS/LogiCole system.
- Perform all drawing work using current versions of Autodesk AutoCAD Revit or equivalent CAD software in accordance with DHA policies procedures and AEC standards.
- Assist MTF facility managers in organizing maintaining and updating building drawings plans and master plans.
- Follow DHA-defined file naming conventions and technical standards for drawing file management.
- Upload and maintain 100% Issued For Construction (IFC) design documents and red-lined As-Built or final Record Drawings in the MARS database.
- Produce Record Drawings by updating 100% IFC files with red-lined As-Built submissions if not provided by the construction contractor.
- Perform remote updates using phone web conference email or fax for changes affecting less than 5000 square feet within a single contiguous building.
- Update Fire Protection and Life Safety drawings to reflect as-built conditions including all system components such as control panels detectors pull stations egress lighting fire extinguishers sprinkler heads and smoke/fire dampers.
- Upload completed drawing updates to the MARS database with required metadata tags in accordance with DHA policies.
- Collaborate with Data Entry Clerks and Quality Control Technicians to ensure accuracy of drawings and drawing sets imported into DMLSS/LogiCole.
- Convert PDF scans of facilities to CAD formats when digital drawings are unavailable limited to the extent necessary for project updates.
- Travel to project sites as needed to collect digital files or scan paper drawings when digital versions do not exist.
- Support requests for facility drawing files installation and project folder creation reviewing updates for compliance with DHA CADD and AEC standards.
- Participate in design submittal review teams and project completion functional testing teams to validate drawings prior to Government acceptance and project closeout.
- Review and evaluate engineering design drawings to ensure they accurately reflect as-built conditions.
- Perform self-review and team quality control reviews revising drawings based on reviewer feedback.
- Complete Government-approved training required to perform duties associated with CAD software DMLSS/LogiCole MARS and other Government-owned systems.
- Participate in engineering quality control activities such as fire alarm and fire pump testing.
- Perform field surveys to support new designs modifications or installation assistance for complex projects.
- Document and report building deficiencies observed during site visits.
Education Experience and Technical Skills

- Associates degree in computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) from an accredited institution OR a CADD certificate from an accredited technical or vocational school.
- Minimum of two (2) years of documented experience using Autodesk AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software to create modify and maintain engineering or architectural drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret construction and as-built drawings for architectural mechanical and infrastructure systems.
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Real ID or Passport in order to undergo commercial airfare travel
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid drivers license
Preferred Education Experience and Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of facility management and building infrastructure systems sufficient to maintain and update drawings per DHA policies AEC standards and project requirements.
- Ability to collect consolidate and apply data from multiple sources to produce accurate and complete drawings and associated documentation.
Working Environment
This position primarily operates in a professional office setting with standard office equipment and a quiet climate-controlled environment. While in the office there is no regular exposure to loud noise hazardous materials or heavy machinery.
This role also requires periodic travel to project sites including locations undergoing renovation or active construction. During site visits the employee may be exposed to non-temperature-controlled environments construction noise dust and other typical conditions found on job sites. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required during these visits depending on site conditions. While on site visits an individual in this role will be required to work atypical hours at the request of the client or role demands.
Physical Demands
Sitting/Standing: This is not a sedentary role. This role requires the ability to be on your feet moving around a construction site for most of the day interacting with contractors contractor representatives and inspecting the construction work that is being performed.
Walking: This role requires the ability to move about outside in various geographic and building terrains to access a construction site to provide quality assurance services.
Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: This role requires stooping kneeling crouching crawling and ladder climbing to inspect all aspects of building construction to foundations crawlspaces and roofs.
Using Hands/Fingers: This role constantly operates technological office equipment such as laptop mouse keyboard computer monitors telephones and scanners copiers and fax machines.
Talking/Hearing: This role requires constant communication with others in the organization to exchange information review information and make decisions about information.
Seeing: This role requires the ability to see view and distinguish all aspects of construction to ensure quality control.
Carrying/Lifting: This role requires lifting up to 30 lbs to transport technological office equipment safety equipment and other needed construction items to and from various workspaces.
