Shift: Nights (Rotating Weekends)
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Med-Surgical Inpatient Surgical Unit in a fast-paced acute care setting. This unit primarily cares for post-operative patients transitioning from PACU including those recovering from abdominal surgeries and requiring wound care and patient education.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a high patient volume while delivering safe patient-centered care.

- General Medical/Surgical Unit
- 45 Beds
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 7:1
- Patient Population:
- Post-surgical recovery patients
- Abdominal surgery cases
- Wound care and post-operative management
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for post-surgical and medical-surgical patients
- Monitor patient conditions and manage post-operative recovery
- Perform wound care and dressing changes
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Ensure adherence to safety infection control and hospital protocols
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience (within the last 2 years)
- Active Florida RN License or Compact RN License
- Compact license holders must obtain Florida licensure within 60 days
- Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required
- BLS (AHA) certification required prior to start
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required within 30 days of start
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Strong experience in post-operative and wound care
Candidate Requirements
- Must reside within a commutable distance of the facility
- In-person interview required prior to offer (may include shadowing and facility tour)
