We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to join our Data & Analytics (DnA) organization. This role focuses on translating business needs into clear actionable and technically detailed requirements for data engineering governance and analytics teams. Responsibilities
- Translate business needs into clear technically detailed requirements including data mappings transformation logic and acceptance criteria
- Define requirements for data ingestion and integration transformation logic and dbt models curated/semantic data zones and data contracts
- Interpret and document SQL transformations schema changes table structures and data quality business rules
- Work daily with Data Engineers on Databricks pipelines and notebooks dbt models DAGs and tests
- Review pipeline logic and validate outputs for correctness completeness and alignment to requirements
- Support debugging of Databricks job failures schema drift and lineage gaps dbt test failures and data quality issues
- Contribute to backlog grooming refinement and story scoping for data engineering squads
- Perform process mapping and documentation of current state and future state data flows
- Partner with Product Management Architecture Governance Value Teams and Engineering to ensure alignment and effective delivery
- Champion data quality metadata completeness and governance standards across data products
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelors degree in Business Information Systems Computer Science Analytics or a related field
- 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst Technical Business Analyst or Data Analyst in a data-centric environment
- Experience working in mid-to-large enterprise data platforms with cross-functional dependencies
- Proven ability to operate effectively in agile or iterative delivery models
- Expert level SQL for data analysis validation and transformation
- Familiarity with Databricks and dbt including models testing and documentation
- Understanding of data pipelines orchestration and data quality controls
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in complex data environments
- Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into precise technical requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data correctness and traceability
- Comfortable working in fast-paced matrixed environments
Preferred
- Familiarity with data domains in finance or procurement workplace services sustainability business development human resources
- Experience with BI or visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Exposure to Python or R for data analysis or automation
- Experience working with enterprise systems such as SAP Oracle or Anaplan
- Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus but not required
