Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to manage a Construction Division regional field office by supervising assigned personnel and managing the DGS construction contract workload in the assigned region that is associated with a specific geographical area.
POSITION DUTIES
Duties for thisposition include butare not limited to:
- Acts as backup toChief and Area Supervisor representing the division in meetings and managingdaily operations as needed.
- Coordinates withinternal teams contractors and stakeholders to report project status resolveissues and support timely decisions.
- Managescorrespondence equipment materials office operations and resource needs.
- Overseesinspectors including staffing scheduling training performance evaluationsand quality control of work.
- Conducts sitevisits to verify work quality and compliance with contract documents.
- Ensures accurateand complete project documentation files and change order records.
- Leads meetingsreviews project documents processes change orders ensures compliance withprocurement
rules and oversees required reporting.
- Directs allproject phases (pre-construction active close-out and warranty) resolvingissues maintaining quality standards and ensuring timely completion.
-Approvecontracts for project schedule construction status updates proposed changeorders invoices and A-E performance evaluations.
-Reviewproject files including completion of files ensuring all significant projectrelated actions are documented and maintain balance sheet.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Strong preference will be given to applicants whopossess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear andspecific information on your application regardingall qualifications.
Education:Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high schoolequivalency certificate.
Experience:Tenyears of experience in the building construction including three years ofsupervising managing and/orinspecting major construction projects.
Notes:
may substitute the possession of a current registration as aProfessional Engineer in Maryland or in a state with comparable requirementsfor four years of required experience. Candidates must present evidence ofregistration with the application.
may substitute a bachelors degree in civil electrical ormechanical engineering from an accredited college or university approved by theEngineers Council for Professional Development and six years of experience inthe building construction field at least three years of which must haveincluded overseeing or inspecting major construction projects for the requiredexperience.
3. Candidates may substitute Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the CivilEngineering Corpsclassifications or Construction Analyst or CivilEngineering specialty codes in the Engineering field of work on a year-for-yearbasis for the required experience.
