Job Summary

Financial Analyst - United States Attorneys Office (Onsite San Francisco CA)

We are looking for a Financial Analyst to support the United States Attorneys Office (USAO) Northern District of California. The focus of this role is to provide financial analyst/investigator services in support of criminal and civil debt collection investigations working in conjunction with Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) other financial analysts paralegals and debt collection agents in the Financial Litigation Program. This role will assist in conducting investigations involving criminal and civil debts provide analysis of documents associated with a complex transaction or series of transactions and obtain and analyze financial banking accounting and tax records in order to trace the movement of funds identify assets to pursue for collection or to assess a debtors ability to make payments.

This is a 3-year contract 40-hour/week (Mon-Fri 8:30 am 5:00 pm) onsite role at the United States Attorneys Office (USAO) Northern District of California in San Francisco CA.

This is a W2 role with Stage 4 Solutions. Health benefits and 401K are offered.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct financial analyses of individual partnership and corporate judgment debtors in support of criminal and civil debt collection investigations.
  • Review and analyze financial statements tax returns credit reports banking records escrow documents loan applications and related financial documentation to determine collectability of assets.
  • Trace the movement of funds and identify assets available for debt recovery or collection efforts.
  • Prepare detailed written financial analysis reports for Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) and Financial Litigation Program (FLP) personnel including findings conclusions and recommendations.
  • Assist in identifying assets that may be recoverable under the Federal Debt Collection Procedures Act.
  • Draft written discovery documents including interrogatories requests for production and subpoenas to support financial investigations and analyses.
  • Conduct and evaluate computerized database searches public records searches lien and judgment reviews Secretary of State filings and publicly available financial information.
  • Analyze financial and business records associated with complex transactions and corporate structures.
  • Collaborate with AUSAs financial analysts paralegals and debt collection personnel to support ongoing investigations and litigation matters.
  • Prepare verbal and written status updates reports and supporting documentation as requested by the Government.
  • Provide ancillary administrative and office support functions related to financial litigation and investigative activities.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of financial analysis/management experience at a federal agency.
  • Experience conducting financial analysis involving individuals partnerships corporations trusts or other business entities.
  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting financial records tax documents banking information and related financial data.
  • Experience preparing reports to present financial findings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Microsoft Access online databases and related financial analysis tools.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to successfully pass a DOJ background investigation
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Economics or a related field.

Total Compensation: $30-$55/hr. depending on experience
