PURPOSE OF POSITION
Under the direction of the Inspector i/c Operational Support will supervise and co-ordinate the activity ofcivilian personnel in relation to the day-to-day operations of the Property Section including the receiving storing recording controlling and issuing of articles seized as evidence or recovered as lost or stolen property. Be responsible for procurement while working closely with Administration recording and controlling police equipment uniforms and office supplies and other items as required. Liaise with all levels of the organization other police and related agencies.
The incumbent will ensure that seized property and evidence is maintained and purged in accordance with Service policy and legislation. The incumbent will be required to conduct periodic compliance audits.
Shall in the performance of duties respect and protect human dignity and maintain and uphold the human rights of all persons.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and evaluate civilian personnel in relation to the day-to-day operations of the Property Section
Record and control property retrieved from storage lockers on a daily basis
Sign for received shipments
Coordinate the disposal of property though public auction
Ensure property and officers notebooks are tracked and controlled
Procure record and control police equipment and uniforms
Procure record and control the distribution of office supplies and other items as required
Distribute chaser memorandums to officers for disposition/disposal of evidence
Respond to inquiries as required to any other needs
Be accountable to supervisors for the duties described

Knowledge
Good working knowledge of the organizational structure Routine Orders Policy and Procedures and practices within the Service as it pertains to duties performed
A thorough understanding and good working knowledge of receiving and inventory control procedures
Working knowledge of computerized Record Management Systems (i.e. Niche)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including MS Word and MS Excel
Skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficient with Windows based computer operating systems.
Strong interpersonal supervisory and time management skills
Possess good analytical interpretive problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
Demonstrated time-management and organizational skills
Abilities
Proven ability to deal with multiple and competing demands for time and attention
Ability to learn and adaptability to deal professionally and effectively with all members visitors contractors and suppliers
