We are hiring a Licensed School Nurse for 2026-27 to work approximately 17 hours per week (.437 FTE) with assignments at: Berea Lutheran School in Inver Grove Heights (37 hours per year or .025 FTE) Hikmah Academy in Burnsville (153 hours per year or .10 FTE) Cyprus Classical Academy in Burnsville (75 hours per year or .05 FTE) Heritage Lutheran School in Apple Valley (12 hours per year or .008 FTE) and .25 FTE floating in our public school health offices. Actual hours are subject to the funding allotted by the Minnesota Department of Education annually.

Job Summary:

1. Support and promote a safe and healthy school environment working with students
2. Provide First Aid and Emergency Care for students and staff
3. Provide direct care as indicated through physician orders and the students Individual Health Plan
4. Maintain positive collaborative relationships with staff and parents.
5. Maintain daily record keeping and medication administration via electronic health record system.
6. Support student education in self-management of health tasks and train staff to support student health needs.
7. Demonstrate a genuine interest in unique student populations with varied health concerns and cultural backgrounds.
8. Promotes and assists in the control of communicable diseases.
9. Ability to travel between schools.

Qualifications:

1. Preferred Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Current Minnesota RN licensure public health certificate.
2. Licensed School Nurse (LSN) from Minnesota Department of Education/PELSB or ability to meet MDE requirements.
3. Ability to perform skilled nursing care such as catheterization suctioning gastrostomy tube feedings insulin administration insulin pumps continuous glucose monitor nebulizer treatments and seizure care oxygen administration emergency care etc.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Computer Proficiency using various software applications.
5. CPR certified.
6. Understanding and knowledge of the following competencies:
   • Management of common chronic conditions in children
   • Asthma Management diabetes insulin pen and pumps seizure management
   • Pediatric/adolescent nursing-child development
   • Pediatric disorders and syndromes.
   • COVID-19 Protocols and Infection Control
   • Special education services
   • Ethnic and cultural inclusion
7. Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally ethnically racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.
