Job Summary

Job Summary for School Psychologist LSSP (2026-27 School Year):

- Conduct psychoeducational assessments and interpret results
- Write comprehensive evaluation reports and determine special education eligibility
- Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and use data to inform interventions
- Provide individual and group counseling to address mental health behavior trauma and social skills
- Develop behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and support social-emotional development
- Collaborate with teachers administrators and parents to improve learning and behavior
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams and support IEP development/implementation
- Provide crisis counseling and assist in threat assessments and crisis response
- Support and help implement prevention programs for mental health and school safety
- Ensure compliance with federal state and district regulations (FERPA/HIPAA)
- Maintain accurate and confidential records
- Assist in developing and evaluating campus-wide behavioral and mental health programs
- Communicate evaluation results to families and provide parent training/resources
- Connect families with community services as needed

Qualifications:
- Specialist-level degree (Ed.S.) or higher in School Psychology
- Completion of a supervised internship (typically 1200 hours)
- Strong assessment data analysis and counseling skills
- Knowledge of special education law and eligibility criteria
- Effective communication collaboration and crisis response skills
- Cultural competence and ability to work with diverse populations
