The Opportunity
KBR is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Specialist Engineer Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of critical Defence capability within the Long-Range Fires (LRF) program.
This role will provide specialist electrical engineering expertise to support the integration of LC4 systems across a range of Australian Army platforms. The successful candidate will contribute to the design certification implementation and testing of military communications and electrical systems in a complex Defence environment.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on leading-edge Defence projects alongside highly skilled engineering professionals delivering capability outcomes for the Australian Defence Force.
Responsibilities:
- Provide electrical engineering support for the integration of military C4 systems onto Army platforms
- Conduct requirements analysis design activities and implementation support
- Design RF data and electrical cables for Defence platform integration
- Produce and review technical drawings and engineering documentation using CAD software
- Support prototyping trial installations and platform integration activities
- Conduct Verification & Validation (V&V) activities and support certification outcomes
- Perform quality reviews of prototype manufactured cables and installations
- Support electrical and power certification activities for military C4I systems
- Use specialist test equipment to measure and validate C4 system performance
- Assist in the development of engineering reports plans procedures and technical documentation
- Conduct hazard analysis and support regulatory compliance activities
- Engage and collaborate with internal project teams Defence stakeholders and industry partners
- Contribute to project planning technical reviews and contract deliverables
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in electrical engineering within Defence communications or complex integrated systems environments
- Experience integrating military C4/C4I systems onto land platforms
- Knowledge of RF systems electrical power systems and vehicle/platform networking
- Experience working with radios amplifiers filters couplers antennae and related communications equipment
- Proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software for technical drafting and design documentation
- Experience supporting Verification & Validation (V&V) testing and certification activities
- Strong understanding of Australian and International engineering standards and Defence requirements
- Excellent stakeholder engagement communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage complex technical activities
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance and Australian citizenship required to be eligible.
