Whats the role

The role leads the enterprise transition from AppDynamics to Elastic Observability using OpenTelemetry driving modern observability practices improving reliability and scalability and ensuring a smooth migration through strong technical leadership automation and alignment to SRE and cloud-native standards.

  • Lead the end-to-end migration from AppDynamics to Elastic using OTEL ensuring parity or improved observability outcomes
  • Define and implement OTEL-first instrumentation standards and scalable telemetry pipelines
  • Drive adoption of SRE practices shifting towards SLI/SLO-based monitoring and alerting models
  • Automate deployment configuration and validation of OTEL collectors Elastic assets and CI/CD observability checks
  • Enable safe and automated decommissioning of legacy AppDynamics tooling agents and licences
  • Improve platform reliability scalability and self-service observability through reusable patterns and automation
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering and SRE teams producing runbooks and self-service assets to support adoption
What do I need
  • 5-10 years deep experience with AppDynamics APM knowledge for migration and exit planning
  • Expert Open Telemetry instrumentation and collector engineering
  • Advanced Elastic Observability (APM traces logs metrics service maps)
  • Deep knowledge of Kibana for dashboard creation
  • ESQL Query writing language to search filter transform and analyse data stored in Elasticsearchespecially logs metrics
  • events and security data.
  • Hands-on automation using Infrastructure as Code CI/CD APIs and scripting
  • SRE practices including SLIs SLOs and incident diagnostics Strong governance cost optimisation and risk management

  • Excellent communication skill and proven ability to collaborate across a large enterprise at all levels
