The Department
The Construction Trades Department has a long-standing reputation for producing highly skilled and capable professionals.

The Role
The Construction Trades Department is seeking two full-time sessional Electrical Instructors starting August 15 2026 - June 30 2027. These roles will give the successful candidates the opportunity to instruct in a variety of courses within the department.

Requirements

A Journeyperson Electrician with Red Seal certification (preferably an Alberta Journeyperson with completion of Apprenticeship) with several years of related industrial experience. Dual ticket preferred Electrical and Instrumentation. Additional desirable qualifications include: Power Systems Electrician or Power Lineman Master Electrician related technology diploma or related degree.

Candidates must be professionals who have strong communication planning and goal-setting skills; be flexible confident and a team player; and be committed to student motivation and achievement. Teaching experience would be an asset in addition to the following:

  • proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • strong organizational and multi-tasking skills;
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • ability to build strong relationships across the organization;
  • a high level of integrity professionalism and accountability;
