POSITION SUMMARY

Infleqtion isseekinga highly experiencedopto-mechanical engineer;this roleis responsible forcreatingRF/opticalsystemswithrobust performance inchallengingenvironments.

Thisrole requires close collaboration withour customersmultidisciplinary teammates manufacturing partners suppliers and subcontractors. The individual willdefine requirements complete designs and assemble hardwarethroughout the program lifecycle ensuring delivery against milestones and commitments whilemaintainingalignment withInfleqtionsinternal product lifecycle and quality standards. Cross-disciplinary engagement is expected with this roledriving technical alignment across hardware software systems andphysicsdomains.

JOBRESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design assembly and testcompactopto-mechanicalsystems for rugged environments including shock vibration and temperature whilemaintainingrobustsystemperformance.
  • Collaborate effectivelywithmulti-disciplinary teamtoderiveopto-mechanicaldesignrequirements.
  • Lead mentorand delegate tasks tojunior mechanicalengineers available toassistyouacross the entireprojectexecution.
  • BalanceMultiphysics design space tradeoffs toconverge onoptimalsystemic solutions.
  • Present your work at both informal team meetings and formal design reviews with customers.
  • Identifyingand engaging key suppliers.
  • Create detailed mechanical documentation including part and assembly drawings BOMsand assembly procedures.
  • Assembleprototypesandengineering developmentunitstodetermineoptimaltechniques andauthoringassembly documentation for scalable production.
  • Develop and implement testplansto ensuresystemrequirements are met.
  • Supportingdevelopmentof risk management plansriskresolutionandsupporting reliability analysis and continuous improvement.
  • FollowingInfleqtionsProduct Lifecycle Process and supporting Phase gate reviews critical design reviews and executive updates.


Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineeringor otherdirectly relatedfield.
  • 5years of relevant industry experience.A mastersdegree or higher can be a substitute for experience.
  • Expert knowledge of SolidWorks and working experience with SolidWorks PDM.
  • An in-depth understanding of the GD&T drawingstandards.
  • Excellentproficiencyindesignfirst principles.
  • DemonstratedDFx(design for cost manufacturing assembly test sustainment).
  • Experience designing precision optical and/or mechanical components and assemblies.
  • ExperienceusingFEAtodesignsystems tooperatein challenging environmentsandtestingthose designs.
  • Hands-onengineer with experience buildingcomplexprototypes and EDUs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.

An Exceptional Candidate will also have

  • Masters or PhD degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Experience in delivering new advanced technologies to commercialmarkets.
  • Detailed knowledge of opto-mechanical designtechniques forprecise and stablemounting andalignment offiber optic and free-spacelaser systems.
  • Environmental MIL-STD-801testingexperience.
  • RFdesign materialselectionusingHFSS and/orRFtesting experience.
  • Experience inZemaxor other optical analysis tools.
  • Experience withsheet metaldesign and rack systems.

TRAVEL

Up to5%travelmay berequired.

WORKING CONDITIONS and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work will normally be performed in an office to efficiently use automated office equipment such as laptops copiers and printers; able to effectively engage in communications (via phone computer or in-person).Will involve sitting standing walking lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds.
