A family-owned and operated construction subcontractor is seeking a hands-on Construction Accountant to join their growing team in Indiantown FL. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves bringing organization to accounting operations and working closely with leadership in a collaborative environment.

The company specializes in commercial government and industrial construction projects including brick block stone installation concrete work and restoration/repair projects ranging from $20K to $5M in value.

What Youll Do:

• Maintain and manage the general ledger ensuring accuracy and proper coding
• Prepare financial reports and support day-to-day accounting operations
• Track and analyze job costs across 2025 active projects
• Manage and maintain Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules
• Perform month-end close reconciliations and reporting
• Complete bank reconciliations and maintain balanced accounts
• Assist with AIA billing related to construction projects
• Support collections efforts and financial tracking
• Help clean up and organize financial records to bring accounting processes up to date
• Work closely with the Controller and leadership team to improve processes and maintain accurate reporting as the company continues to grow

Project Details:

• 2025 active projects at a time
• Project sizes ranging from $20K$5M
• Project durations ranging from 1 month to 2 years
• Commercial government and industrial projects

What Theyre Looking For:

• 35 years of accounting experience
• Construction accounting experience REQUIRED
• Strong understanding of job costing financial reporting general ledger accounting WIP schedules month-end close bank reconciliations and AIA billing
• Experience with Deltek REQUIRED!
  
• Organized detail-oriented and comfortable helping bring structure and organization to a growing accounting department
