Job Summary
JOB DESCRIPTION RESIDENT ENGINEER
The position is responsible for customer support activities from RFQ response to closure of development program and support after SOP if needed.
R&D scope include:
Active participation in internal (RFx Program and Quality meetings) / external (customer supplier) management meetings
Local on-site customer interface for development and validation activities.
Liaison with the R&D team and the Program Core team members (PM Sales Quality Manufacturing Purchasing) for product development
Reporting to customer escalation to upper management
Main Activities/Responsibilities:
Interface with end company for technical reporting/discussions/negotiations
Work with all disciplines (SW EE ME Sys Val) for on-site customer support
Can be asked to work with all disciplines (SW EE ME Sys Val) on-site in Northville MI where the engineering team is located
Document and update customer reported issues in appropriate issue tracking systems.
Participating in Program reviews / Gate committees / Alert meeting for Program management
Integration of continuous improvement in FCE customer proposals
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have/be:
Experience as resident engineer within R&D at CTC Auburn-Hills (3 years)
Master milestones gates and processes
Know how to use internal systems
Automotive validation experience (2 years preferred)
Experience with issue tracking tools (e.g. JIRA Redmine IBM RTC etc.)
Knowledge of Automotive validation expectations for each discipline (EE ME SW environmental etc)
Minimum 2 years of experience of electronic products (i.e Displays IVI ECU BCM) development for global OEMs (JP EU Americas)
Ability to work with global teams delivering solutions in a fast-paced environment
Strong customer support and communication skills
Advanced written and spoken English
