JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE:Manufacturing Engineer

POSITION PURPOSE:
Responsible for designing documenting and validating production processes that ensure components and assemblies are manufactured within budgeted timeframes while consistently meeting or exceeding all customer-specified quality standards.

REPORTS TO:Operations & Engineering Manager
CLASSIFICATION:Exempt

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilize MS Word and Excel for documentation data analysis and reporting

  • Interpret engineering drawings blueprints and parts lists to determine manufacturing requirements

  • Navigate the companys ERP system to process job orders and track production status

  • Develop detailed manufacturing and assembly work instructions in alignment with internal standards and TS-KC facility protocols

  • Participate in new product introduction meetings to identify and resolve potential specification conflicts early in the development cycle

  • Review and apply customer military federal and material specifications as applicable to each project

  • Provide hands-on support to production and assembly teams during initial production runs ensuring accurate documentation and timely job closure

  • Mentor and train team members across assembly and manufacturing departments to strengthen overall skill sets

  • Adhere to all written QMS (Quality Management System) policies and procedures

  • Apply SPC (Statistical Process Control) methodologies to monitor and improve process capability

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of CNC machine functions including G-codes M-codes and tool offsets

  • Apply assembly best practices and techniques to guide production activities

  • Use CAD/CATIA software for design review model evaluation and engineering analysis

  • Design and develop fixtures jigs and gages to support manufacturing efficiency and quality

  • Diagnose production issues and determine whether root causes are machine-related or program-related

  • Maintain an organized safe and clean work area at all times

  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on machining experience in a similar manufacturing environment (required)

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Engineering Technology or a related field (equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered)
