The Piping Journeyman will be responsible for installation repair and maintenance of piping systems in industrial and commercial settings.

Typical Duties

• Install assemble and maintain piping systems including valves fittings and fixtures.
• Read and interpret blueprints schematics and technical drawings.
• Perform routine inspections and troubleshoot issues in piping systems.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople engineers and project managers to complete projects on time.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed materials used and time spent.
• Stay updated on new technologies and best practices in piping systems and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of appropriate fittings and specific piping systems
• Knowledge of steam condensate chilled water air
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Proficient in using tools and equipment related to piping installation and repair.
• Perform a variety of duties that may change often and quickly.
• Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy based on accepted practices procedures and project specific specifications.

Physical Requirements

• Stand or walk for longer periods of time during a regular workday.
• Use hands and arms to reach for handle and manipulate objects.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Climb up and down ladders scaffolds stairs and other climbing devices.
• Work while in stooped kneeling crouched and crawling positions.
• Be able to see naturally or with correction to perform tasks safely.
• Able to work in all type of environmental and weather conditions to include severe cold heat wet or dry and high winds.
• Work in close proximity to moving mechanical parts.
• Work in noisy conditions.
• Work in environments that may include toxic or caustic chemicals or fumes that are in use or being stored.
