About the Role

The Resident Services Administrative Intern supports the daytoday operations of a supportive housing program by providing administrative coordination and program support to the Resident Services team. This internship offers handson experience in nonprofit housing services operations and community support while contributing to work that helps residents maintain stable housing and access essential resources.

This role is ideal for students interested in human services social work public administration or nonprofit operations.

Key Responsibilities

Duties may vary weektoweek and are supervised by Resident Services staff.

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Support daily department operations scheduling and internal coordination
  • Check and distribute Resident Services mail and route general inquiries
  • Assist with meeting and event preparation including ordering supplies or food
  • Order office and program supplies in coordination with staff

Program & Resource Coordination

  • Process transportation requests for Resident Services participants
  • Support inventory and ordering for Care Closet and Welcome Home Closet
  • Assist with ordering and tracking phones accessories and other resident resources
  • Prepare basic reports and assist with audits or data requests as assigned

Documentation & Compliance Support

  • Assist with scanning uploading filing and retrieving documentation
  • Help track administrative deadlines and organize files for staff review
  • Support quality control and record organization under supervision

Special Projects

  • Assist with resident services events seasonal initiatives and special projects
  • Provide support to the Data & Compliance Coordinator and broader team as needed

Qualifications

Required

  • Current student or recent graduate in Social Work Human Services Public Administration Nonprofit Management or a related field
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • Basic computer skills (Word Excel Outlook or Google Workspace)

Preferred

  • Interest in affordable or supportive housing
  • Previous administrative or office experience
  • Willingness to learn data systems and tracking tools
