About the role
Lead and coordinate aspects of the Quality Use of Medicines (QUM) program ensuring safe effective and efficient medication management systems across the Network in line with organisational and regulatory standards
Lead the review development maintenance and governance of Pharmacy-owned policies procedures and clinical guidelines ensuring alignment with QUM principles and Drug and Therapeutics Committee (DTC) requirements
Lead operational management of medicines procurement governance issues including stock shortages product discontinuations PBS delistings contract changes medication recalls and defect notifications coordinating responses and communications with clinical teams
Contribute to QUM program support activities including education and communications participation in relevant committees and working groups and supporting DTC Secretariat and Individual Patient Use processes as required
Provide operational leadership within Pharmacy Services supporting medication governance service improvement staff capability development and continuity of pharmacy operations across sites in collaboration with the Pharmacy Leadership Team
About you
Registered as a practicing pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with no conditions on scope of practice and post registration clinical or management/leadership qualifications or equivalent skills/experience
Significant experience and a demonstrated high level of competence expertise skill and application of clinical judgment in the provision of clinical pharmacy services and demonstrated commitment to professional development
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in formulary management and Drug and Therapeutics Committee processes including active involvement in the pre- and post-implementation of committee decisions and the development and implementation of medication-related policies and procedures
Demonstrated experience in delivering Quality Use of Medicines (QUM) initiatives Medicines Use Evaluation (MUE/DUE) activities and the application of relevant HealthCare Standards into practice
Demonstrated strong problem-solving organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities work autonomously and maintain a high level of accuracy attention to detail and accountability in the delivery of complex tasks
Ability to participate in weekend work and on call roster requirements
