Job Description:

Responsible for providing trauma injury prevention education to community. This position will provide trauma related education programs and other community outreach education identified by the trauma program. Become a leader in the local and rural communities to provide trauma prevention programs trauma education programs and outreach activities in accordance with the American College of Surgeons (ACS) criteria.

Adheres to hospital policies and procedures as well as addresses patient safety performance improvement and quality of care issues.
Knowledgeable about patient safety and quality of care issues. Able to recognize safety issues in the department and handles incidents per institutional and/or departmental policies and procedures. If safety issues were identified; all issues were handled timely and appropriately.
Employee attends and follows all department specific safety education and training in an effort to create a safe work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/experience/licensing
Current Active RN Licensure in the State of Ohio with a minimum 5 years of clinical nursing
BSN Preferred
Current Basic Life Support
Trauma Nurse Core Certification (TNCC) preferred or obtained within 6 months of hire and maintained throughout employment in position. TNCC instructor preferred.
American Heart Association CPR ACLS certification required. Will accept at time of hire only CPR.
Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation for off campus events.
Must possess excellent written verbal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and under pressure in a complex environment.
Demonstrates knowledge of ACS standards is preferred. Must have minimum of two (2)years of experience in trauma critical care or emergency care setting.
Demonstrate leadership skills and expertise in planning organizing in articulating ideas and concepts.
Demonstrate leadership skills to participate in community education programs.
Must be able to develop and design educational programs.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills to communication effectively and able to do public speaking.
Must have knowledge of computer system and data analytics including Excel PowerPoint Microsoft word.
