Job Summary
Prevention Specialist- Youth Prevention Education
Recovery Resource Council a 75-year-old non-profit agency providing trauma-informed care is seeking a full-time educator to provide school and community-based health-promotion services to youth and adults throughout the community with an emphasis on teen pregnancy and sexual health.
This position provides services to high-risk teens in DFW and currently offices from home with Home Campus assignment at either the Fort Worth or Dallas campus.
Requirements: Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required; Must have prior experience working with youth and must possess strong skills in public speaking classroom management team-building and activity facilitation - including day camps program marketing professionalism documentation ethics boundaries initiative and overall organizational skills; Prior experience providing prevention education is preferred; virtual and in-person classroom and service delivery will be required; additional on-job curriculum and prevention training required including certification testing within first 18 months. Must demonstrate consistent commitment and success to Making Meaningful Change with both youth and adults while also upholding the agency Guarantee of Unconditional Acceptance Respect and Positive Regard for all. Must have reliable transportation insurance and valid TX D.L.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver evidencebased prevention curricula to youth in classrooms afterschool programs and community groups.
Facilitate group discussions workshops and activities that build socialemotional skills coping strategies and healthy lifestyle habits.
Adapt program materials to meet the developmental needs of diverse age groups.
Build positive relationships with youth families school staff and community partners.
Conduct outreach presentations to raise awareness about prevention services and community resources.
Participate in community events health fairs and coalition meetings.
Identify youth who may need additional support and connect them with appropriate school counselors behavioral health providers or community services.
Maintain professional boundaries and follow agency protocols for crisis situations or mandatory reporting.
Data Reporting & Compliance
Maintain accurate attendance records pre/posttest data and program documentation in accordance with HHSC and agency requirements.
Submit timely reports on program delivery outcomes and service hours.
Ensure all activities comply with state standards confidentiality laws and grant expectations.
Professional Development
Stay current on youth behavioral health trends prevention science and traumainformed practices.
