We are looking for a motivated Cyber Security Administrator to join the St Vincents Cyber Security Team. Reporting to the Cyber Security Operations Manager you will play a key role in the day-to-day monitoring of security events and supporting the wider team in safeguarding our organisation.

This is an exciting permanent full-time opportunity available with an immediate start. This role is available on a hybrid working arrangement and can be based in any of our Group Offices in Melbourne Brisbane or Sydney. You will also be expected to take part in the D&T on-call after-hours roster.

Key responsibilities of the roles:

  • Monitor and triage security alerts using SIEM tools; assist senior team members in investigating and responding to potential threats.
  • Provide operational support for Privileged Access Management (PAM) systems ensuring user access aligns with security policies.
  • Support the team in conducting vulnerability scans and tracking the progress of remediation strategies across the network.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating security policies procedures and internal documentation.
  • Support security technologies including firewalls endpoint protection and email gateways.
  • Promote security awareness across the organisation and provide guidance to staff on security best practices.
  • Stay current with emerging threats and proactively seek opportunities to grow your technical skill set.

Things that work for us:

  • Demonstrated experience in a Cyber Security role or an IT role with a security focus will be highly regarded.
  • Experience across common security platforms including Microsoft Office 365 SIEMs Email gateway products Privilege Access Management Endpoint Detection and Vulnerability Management platforms.
  • An understanding of security frameworks including the ACSC Essential Eight or NIST.
  • A strong ability to follow processes troubleshoot issues and escalate complex incidents when necessary.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to explain security concepts to non-technical staff.
  • Tertiary qualification in IT/Cyber Security or progress toward certifications like CompTIA Security or CCNA is desirable.
  • A proactive can-do approach with a genuine desire to learn from a team of experienced professionals.
