IT Technician

An ambitious and well-resourced Outstanding secondary school in Newcastle is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive IT Technician to join their experienced support staff team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical knowledge who is passionate about supporting education through high-quality IT provision.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the schools IT systems and infrastructure on a daily basis. You will provide first-line technical support to staff and students troubleshoot hardware and software issues maintain devices and ensure all systems operate effectively across the school.

You will also support classroom technology including interactive displays laptops printers and network equipment ensuring that teaching and learning can take place without addition you will assist with software installation user account management and maintaining cybersecurity procedures across the school.

The role requires strong organisational skills the ability to prioritise workloads effectively and a calm professional approach when resolving technical issues. You will be working closely with both teaching and support staff so strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Requirements

Previous experience in an IT support role
Strong understanding of hardware software and network systems
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate effectively with staff and students
Organised proactive and able to work independently
