Science Teaching Role in an Academy Setting

An academy school in Exeter is seeking to appoint a Science Teacher to join its department from September. This is a full-time role within a school that is committed to raising achievement and delivering engaging high-quality science education.

About the Role

You will teach Science across Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 delivering lessons that develop students understanding of scientific concepts and investigative skills.

The role includes both theoretical teaching and practical laboratory work helping students build confidence in experimentation analysis and scientific reasoning.

You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations supporting them in developing subject knowledge and exam technique.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain consistency in curriculum delivery and assessment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Science across KS3 KS4 and KS5

  • Deliver lessons covering Biology Chemistry and Physics

  • Plan and supervise practical laboratory activities

  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations

  • Assess student work and provide structured feedback

  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records

  • Maintain safe laboratory environments

  • Contribute to departmental planning and shared resources
