Non-Credit Instructor, Upward Bound

Instruction and Program Support

• Provides effective instruction to high school students in a virtual classroom format during the designated work schedule. Develops curriculum and materials for assigned course(s). Participates in an orientation session and meetings as scheduled.

• Prepares develops and proctors one pre-test and one post-test for assigned course(s). Completes and maintains required reports (i.e. class attendance supply lists course syllabus pre- and post-test results final grades etc.) and submits by the given due date. Adhere to established TRIO policies and procedures.

• Provides academic instruction in the following subjects: Wellness Project Based Learning English A (Level I & II) English B (Level III & IV) Spanish French. Other subjects taught through the SEI Program include Physical Science Biology Chemistry Physics Math I (Algebra) Math II (Geometry) Math III (Algebra II) Math IV (Pre-Calculus) and Self-Development.

Customer Service and Classroom Support

• Participate in out-of-class activities/events with students and parents as agreed upon with the Upward Bound Manager. Maintains continual contact with students and maintains good relations with Upward Bound partners participants and others.

• Models professional behavior with participants parents and staff. Handles disruptive behavior with respect follows guidelines processes and procedures and reports any issues to leadership. Monitors participant participation and attendance.

• Fosters and maintains a safe environment of respect and inclusion for faculty staff students and members of the community.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.

• One (1) year of experience.

• State Motor Vehicle Operators License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

• *An appropriate combination of education training coursework and experience may qualify a candidate.
