SUMMARY

The Accounts Payable (AP)/Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing and managing the entire AP and AR collections departments and staff in an organization.

This position will ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies standard documentation practices Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supervising the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable and accounts receivable collections department.
  • Managing the companys financial tasks related to accounts payable such as processing invoices handling payments and maintaining records.
  • Managing the companys AR collection activities such as sending customer statements collecting cash and handling customer disputes.
  • Reviewing and approving all customer credits in accordance with established limits.
  • Ensuring that all payments are made in accordance with company policy and timely.
  • Resolving vendor payment discrepancies and disputes on behalf of the company.
  • Implementing and maintaining systems procedures and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines and best practices.
  • Providing training guidance and direction to staff to ensure work is performed in an efficient timely and knowledgeable manner.
  • Preparing and presenting reports detailing the accounts payable status to company executives and senior management.
  • Preparing A/R aging reports with collection status updates to company executives and senior management.
  • Maintaining and reporting Key Performance Indicators for AR and AP.
  • Assisting with audits and providing recommendations for improving procedures and systems for initiating approving and recording accounts payable transactions.
  • Supervises employees in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning assigning and directing work; supporting managers/directors in performance appraisals; reviewing weekly timesheets and time-off requests; providing regular feedback and setting individual goals aligned with team and department goals.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

  • B.S. degree in Accounting or related field; or equivalent
  • Demonstrated progressive experience in management or supervisor
  • Five to Seven years of experience in public/private accounting preferred
  • Biotechnology or manufacturing industry experience preferred

Certificates Licenses Registrations

  • None required

Language Skills

  • Good oral/written communication


Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to troubleshoot method and instrument issues as needed.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures.


Other Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in a variety of computer software programs including MS Office
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Sage experience is a plus.
