Job Summary
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) to support providers in a pediatric outpatient setting. This role combines clinical and administrative responsibilities focusing on delivering high-quality patient care supporting medical staff during procedures and ensuring efficient clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain exam and treatment rooms with required instruments and supplies
- Room patients and assist in preparing them for provider evaluations
- Accurately obtain and document vital signs in electronic medical records
- Assist providers during examinations treatments and minor procedures
- Administer immunizations in accordance with clinical guidelines
- Perform diagnostic testing such as EKG PFT audiometry and vision screening (upon competency validation)
- Conduct lab-related procedures including phlebotomy UDS and other testing (after training)
- Complete medication reconciliation and support clinical documentation workflows
- Obtain patient histories and perform intake screening (in-person and via phone)
- Coordinate scheduling for appointments procedures and follow-ups
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper EMR documentation
- Monitor clinical supplies and maintain equipment readiness
- Support front-office functions including administrative and billing tasks as needed
- Provide patient and family education on health maintenance and preventive care
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA infection control and safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with patients families and interdisciplinary teams
- Deliver age-appropriate and culturally sensitive care
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (preferred)
- Strong clinical skills including patient rooming and vital signs
- Prior experience in an outpatient or primary care setting preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
Certifications
- BLS (AHA required)
- One of the following certifications required:
- CMA (AAMA NHA NCCT AMCA NCMA)
- RMA (AMT NAHP)
