Job Title:Resource Specialist / Special Education Teacher

Location:Central Valley CA (in-person)
Schedule:Full-Time or Part-Time School Year

About the Role:
Ascend is seeking dedicated Resource Specialists / Special Education Teachers to support students with diverse learning needs across school settings including alternative and non-traditional programs. This role focuses on delivering individualized instruction supporting IEP goals and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to drive student success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized academic instruction to students with mild to moderate disabilities aligned with IEP goals and California State Standards
• Design and implement individualized and small-group instruction using evidence-based strategies
• Conduct formal and informal assessments to guide instruction and monitor student progress
• Develop implement and manage IEPs in compliance with IDEA and local guidelines including progress reporting
• Collaborate with general education staff service providers and families to support student achievement and inclusion
• Utilize technology and adaptive tools to enhance access to curriculum
• Implement positive behavior supports and classroom management strategies that foster a safe inclusive learning environment
• Support transition planning including post-secondary goals and vocational readiness (as applicable)
• Maintain accurate timely documentation in compliance with state and district requirements
• Participate in team meetings professional development and school-based initiatives

Qualifications:

• Valid California Education Specialist Teaching Credential authorizing service as a Resource Specialist for students with mild to moderate support needs
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs preferred
• Strong collaboration communication and organizational skills
• Commitment to equity inclusion and student-centered practices
