Job Description
Summary:

This role is ideal for a dedicated Special Education Teacher passionate about serving students with moderate to severe disabilities in a self-contained classroom setting. You will provide individualized instruction assessment behavior support and educational planning for students with autism multiple disabilities intellectual disabilities emotional disturbances and related special education needs. The position requires strong collaboration with families support staff and multidisciplinary teams to ensure students receive appropriate educational services and achieve meaningful progress toward IEP goals.

What Youll Do:
  • Deliver specialized instruction and behavioral support to students with moderate to severe disabilities.
  • Develop implement and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Serve as Case Manager and facilitate IEP meetings.
  • Assess student performance and monitor academic behavioral and developmental progress.
  • Maintain accurate student records reports and compliance documentation.
  • Collaborate with families service providers administrators and support staff.
  • Research and implement instructional materials interventions and accommodations.
  • Train and supervise paraprofessionals and support staff assigned to the classroom.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and implement recommendations.
Experience Youll Need:
  • Bachelors degree and completion of credential requirements.
  • Education Specialist Instruction Credential Moderate/Severe Disabilities or equivalent Special Education credential.
  • Experience working with students with autism intellectual disabilities multiple disabilities emotional disturbances or related special needs populations.
  • Strong understanding of IEP development implementation and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in behavior management differentiated instruction and special education assessment.
  • Excellent communication organization and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students families and multidisciplinary teams.
