Science Teacher (Chemistry) Wahconah Regional High School (2026-2027 School Year)

POSITION: High School Science Teacher

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Massachusetts teacher certified/certifiable in science-chemistry grades9-12.
• Ability to teach several grade levels and varied abilities among students simultaneously.
• Familiarity with MA Frameworks for science/chemistry.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Participate in curriculum review and design.

2. Establishes and (as necessary) adjusts instructional goals and objectives to reflect district/school goals curriculum policies and the knowledge skills progress and needs of students.

3. Designs lessons that provide opportunities for problem-solving creativity and communication skills in relation to authentic real world problems.

4. Establishes and maintains standards for behavior that foster positive student relationships.

5. Commits to on-going professional development in content area and pedagogy.

6. Plans learningtasks to address individual differences among students

7. Develops administers and evaluates formative and summativefor targeted intervention.

8. Monitors and evaluates students progress in relation tothe MA Frameworks.

9. Encourages secures and maintains the involvement of parents and other community members in support of instruction.

10. Performs other duties as assigned.

11. Effectively collaborates with department and grade level teachers.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Abides by state statutes school board policies and regulations.
2. Attends meetings and performs duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
3. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.
4. Maintains accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative regulation.
5. Serves on committees as assigned.
6. Remains current on instructional practices in education. (e.g. instructional technology)

Principal and/or other Supervisor

SALARY:

$50954 to $97434 per year In accordance with the teachers contract.
