General Summary:

TheSafetySpecialist Iisresponsible foroverseeing the safety ofassigned job site(s)within their division. This will include compliance withAce ElectricsSafety Program the companys Drug-Free workplace program and other safety requirements mandated by the owner or general contractorof the current contract.The SafetySpecialist Ireportsto theSafety Manager or in absence of that position on site the Division Safety Professional.

  • Good understanding of CFR 1910 CFR 1926 NFPA-70e and any other applicablesafetystandards or regulations.
  • Ability todemonstratethe proper use and operation ofindustry specificsafety equipment and instruments. (Gas Detector PFAS DMM Light MeterPPEetc.)
  • Proven ability toteach safety related classes on a jobsite or in a classroom.
  • Proven ability tofoster a positive and productive safety culture while promoting cooperation and improved morale throughout the division.

Mandatory Hiring Requirements:

References Background Check Drug Screen Testing Valid Drivers License.

Responsibilities:

  • Works closely withDivision Safety ProfessionalProject Managers and Superintendents toimplement asafetyand educationtraining program in compliance with theAceSafety Program.
  • EnsurestheAceSafety Programis understood and adhered to on the assigned project.
  • Assist will all necessary job site inspections including color coding fall protection equipmentinspectionsand job hazard assessments (JHAs).
  • Identifiesand implementsbestsafetypractices.
  • Leadscompanysafety and health activities byprovidingdirection andtraining to division personnel.
  • Supportsand implements new safetyinitiatives thatmay arise from a safety auditincidentor other sources.
  • Provides technical support to all personnel to ensure compliance with Federal & State safety & health regulations.
  • Remainsup-to-date and knowledgeable on all OSHA regulations.
  • Issues Safety Alerts for serious incidents (employee injury property damage near miss etc.).
  • Assuresall newly hired associatesaregiven a thorough orientation concerningtheAceSafety Program.(NESO)
  • ConductsFrequent and Regularjobsite inspections and audits focusing on recognizable hazards unsafe work practices and corrective actions orprocedures to be implemented to correct deficiencies.
  • Preparesandmaintainsprojectsafety recordsand reports to improve the companyssafety performance andcomply withall government agencies insurancecarriersand internal procedures.
  • Work with Project Managers Superintendents andDivision Safety Professionalto ensure all necessary safety equipment safety manuals and documents aremaintainedon projects.
  • Works closely with Project Managers and Superintendents todevelop and implement Site Specific Safety Plans for their assignedprojects.
  • Advisesallpersonnel on the use ofnecessary personal protective equipment job safetymaterialsand first-aid equipment.
  • Purchases all safety equipment and supplies for their assignedprojectsin coordination with the division safety professional.
  • Assistsprojectpersonnel in the preparation of permit applications forhigh-riskactivities.(Energized Work First Energization of Services Confined Space Entryetc)
  • Be onsite to supervise andassistduring the performance of anyhigh riskactivities)
  • Ensuresall incidents (injuries property damage and near misses) are properly reported and investigatedto include visiting the work area interviewing employees takingpicturesand completing incident investigation form.
  • Administer drug and alcohol screens in cooperation with HR.
  • Assists HR with any claims management issues. (Workers Comp Vehicle Ins. General Liabilityetc.)
  • Be onsite toaccompanyany safety inspection by OSHA insurance carriers customerssafety personnel or others.
  • Worksclosely withHR and HeadquartersSafetyto reduce contest or mitigate anypotentialOSHAcitations.
  • Collaborate with other company safety personnel to audit and improve theAceSafety Program.
  • Assistswith the completion ofall Customer Safety Prequalification forms as directed.

Position Requirements:

  • License:Valid state drivers license as required by job conditions or by the company.
  • OSHA30 andCPR/First AidCertificationRequired
  • OSHA 500/501 or Certified Health Safety Technician (CHST)
  • Education:High School Graduate or GED.Bachelorspreferred.
  • Experience:At least 2 years of Construction Safety experience preferred.
