Description of Work
***INTERNAL TO CURRENT STATE EMPLOYEES ONLY***This position is eligible for telework and OSHR is currently offering a three-day in-person and two-day remote hybrid schedule.
RECRUITMENT RANGE: $57606 - $80000
The OSHR General Counsels office provides legal and policy advice to the OSHR Director Executive Management and divisions
What Youll Do
In this dynamic role you will support and work with OSHRs legal team in a variety of areasincluding procurements policy rulemaking public records and other matters.
Document Management
Independently develop and maintain filing systems and internal procedures for
management of legal work.
Assist with the collection and redaction of confidential information in
connection with public records or other requests including the use of
e-discovery.
Prepare and provide reports for both internal and external use.
Drafting
Draft correspondence memoranda and other documents.
Research
Conduct and summarize legal research
Special Projects & Administrative Support
Collaborate on cross-functional projects including meeting coordination
documentation and project planning support.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Capability to analyze case law statutory law and common law.
Have an Understanding of judicial and quasi-judicial processes.
Proficiency in conducting legal research based on initial guidance regarding methods available source materials and the offices policies and precedents.
Skill in summarizing facts and evidence as well as drafting legal documents.
Be able to leverage technology for research and writing tasks.
Skill in creating spreadsheets for data capture and analysis.
Minimum Education and Experience

Graduation from an appropriately accredited institution for paralegal training and two years of experience as a paralegal; or Bachelors degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of substantive paralegal experience; or High school or General Education Development (GED) diploma and six years of paralegal experience performing delegated substantive legal work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
